A strong upper-level ridge of high pressure continued to dominate the nation’s weather this week, bringing hot and dry weather to much of the U.S. east of the Rockies. Despite some beneficial rainfall in locations, the drought intensified across the nation, with a total now of 1,369 counties across 31 states considered a “drought disaster”.
