Lightning Injures 9 in Colorado

Earlier this month, a lightning strike injured 9 people — two of them critically and four seriously — while working on a farm in Colorado. To determine where and when lightning occurred leading up to the incident, our meteorologists examined the incident with lightning strike data from our Total Lightning Network.

KDVR Chief Meteorologist Dave Fraser reports:

According to NOAA, there have been 14 lightning fatalities in 9 states so far in 2013.
